Our oldest daughter is doing the roller derby thing in the upper valley, Hanover-Lebanon area of New Hampshire – Vermont.
An exceptional community of folks are involved in this ‘sport’: the feel of rugby on wheels, the counter-culture flavor of Ultimate Frisbee, and a come-one-come-all openness.
We have the opportunity to photograph an upcoming bout of the Upper Valley Vixen’s this coming weekend. A black-and-white co-ed scrimmage opportunity presented itself in Essex Junction, Vermont. Off we went, feeling the need to check it out and do a trial run before the for-real event.

Bad to none wi-fi and good live music has kept me away from posting and left me with a backlog.
After wonderful birding blinds in Pedernales Falls State Park in the Texas Hill Country and exceptional up-and-coming bluegrass bands at Rice Grass in Fischer Hall in the one-of-a-kind town of Fischer, Texas we are on the road heading east towards home. We had to get our alligator fix so we are at Brazos Bend State Park inland but nearer the Texas Gulf Coast.
